Victorian Amethyst Pendant Necklace

$1550.00 USD  Item: 1523

Queen Victoria's daughter-in-law, Alexandra was creating trends in fashion even before she became Queen. She popularized the dog collar necklace for one, and amethyst, though a royal color and a favorite of the Victorian Era, was also one of her most beloved stones. This late Victorian pendant is an outstanding example of the style of pendant that Alexandra would have embraced with relish. A single teardrop shaped amethyst topped by an open work cap and finished with a freshwater pearl and single round amethyst. This is all beautifully and simply displayed on a 14kt yellow gold paperclip link chain. Simply lovely!
